PRESS RELEASE: NUGA GAMES 2008 LOC; DN MEYER PLC APPOINTED
OFFICIAL PAINT COMPANY OF 2009 NUGA GAMES BY UNN

our on-going work at the UNN.
Premium paint manufacturer, DN MEYER PLC has been appointed
as the official paint company of the 2008 Nigeria University
Games (NUGA).
The
company is leading a team of other premium building material
manufacturers
(including
First Aluminium Plc and
Nigeria Wire & Cable PLC amongst others) to execute
the renovation works of some key projects at the main campus
of the University of Nigeria Nsukka. These are to be completed
within eight weeks, early enough for the February 2009
Nigeria University Games (NUGA).
The
projects being executed are renovation and painting of
fifteen hostels, Painting
the Administrative Buildings,
Road Lining & Kerb Construction. The ultimate aim of
this project is to achieve an enduring face- lift to this
citadel of Africa, the type that has not been undertaken
in over 20 years.
A
statement from the company expressed joy at the opportunity
to showcase its premium
brands
of Ultimate Emulsion and
Gloss range, as well as its Acrylic Road Marking Paints.
This turnkey project includes the supply and application
of Meyer Paints to achieve the desired perfect finish.
In line with its capacity building and improvement programme,
DN MEYER PLC is using over 100 members of its recently
launched (16th February 2008) Enugu “Meyer Painters
Club” in the execution of this project.

Premium paint manufacturer, DN Meyer Plc has scored another
first!!
The company has become the pioneer indigenous paint company
to be listed by the NipeX Joint Qualification System and
has therefore been hosted in the live portal.
In June 2004, the Nigerian Petroleum Exchange (NipeX),
an online oil and gas industry supplier (pre-qualification
and contracting system) was developed to promote transparency
and efficiency, institutionalize world-class contracting
processes, and improve on value procurement in the oil
and gas industry. It is an electronic platform that links
oil and gas buyers and suppliers, and establishes industry-wide
standards for transacting business.
The Joint Qualification System (JQS) is designed to provide
an industry-standard supplier sourcing tool that will streamline,
increase efficiency and instill integrity in the prequalification
process of Nigerian based suppliers.

in-country capacity, oversee capability assessment of suppliers’ competencies,
